Excerpt from Anne Lister's Music Book 2 1971.342.b, volume of printed sheet music items, c.1770–1805 (CC BY 4.0)
The music for this piece comes from a book described as ‘1 Vol. Less[ons] & songs’ in an inventory Lister made of her music in 1822 (West Yorkshire Archives Service, Calderdale SH:7/ML/MISC/2/2).
A few items were published before Lister was born or during the years of her early childhood. She may have obtained those pieces from an older relative, a teacher, or music sellers who continued to keep old stock.

Viva tutti le vezzose
Viva tutti le vezzose
[Felice Giardini 1716-1796]
Viva tutte le vezzose
Donne amabili amorose
Che non hanno crudeltà.
Viva sempre, viva sempre
Dalle donne sol deriva
La bramata fedeltà
Le vezzose viva viva
L’amorose viva viva
Viva tutte le vezzose
Donne amabili amorose
Che non hanno crudeltà.
Translation
Long live the lovely women, aimable and loving, who are not cruel.
Long live the women, from whom alone comes the longed-for fidelity
The lovely women, the loving women
Long live the lovely women, aimable and loving, who are not cruel.
